Customs, Duties & Import Taxes

Customs, Duties and Import Taxes

Some products sold by Sarcenet Store may be shipped to the United Kingdom from international suppliers or fulfilment centres.

As a result, orders may be subject to UK customs procedures, VAT, import duties or other applicable charges depending on the value, type and origin of the goods.

Orders Valued at £135 or Less

For qualifying goods with a total consignment value of £135 or less, UK VAT may be collected at the point of purchase in accordance with applicable UK tax regulations.

Non-excise goods within this threshold are generally not subject to additional Customs Duty when entering Great Britain.

Where VAT has already been correctly collected at checkout, customers should not normally be required to pay the same VAT again upon delivery.

Orders Above £135

For consignments valued at more than £135, normal UK import rules may apply.

Depending on the product and its country of origin, the shipment may be subject to:

  • Import VAT;

  • Customs Duty;

  • Courier or customs clearance fees;

  • Other charges required by the relevant authorities.

Where such charges have not already been included in the price paid to Sarcenet Store, the delivery carrier or customs authority may contact the recipient directly regarding payment before the parcel can be delivered.

Customs Delays

International shipments may occasionally be held by UK customs authorities for inspection, documentation or tax assessment.

These procedures are outside the direct control of Sarcenet Store and may result in additional delivery time.

If your tracking information indicates that your order is being held by customs, please continue monitoring the shipment for updates.

If additional information relating to your order is reasonably required, please contact us and we will assist where possible.

Customs Charges

Any applicable VAT, duties or import charges will be handled according to the tax treatment applicable to the order.

Where taxes or duties have already been collected during checkout, they will not intentionally be charged again by Sarcenet Store.

Where legitimate import charges are imposed separately by UK customs authorities or the delivery carrier and were not included in the amount paid at checkout, responsibility for those charges will depend on the applicable shipping and import arrangements for the order.

Sarcenet Store cannot alter, undervalue or incorrectly declare a shipment in order to avoid legally applicable taxes or customs duties.
